This week at The Club was yet another wonderful week. It’s a challenge not to enjoy yourself when you are surrounded by great company, beautiful scenery and salmon! We had the honour of welcoming back Patrick Osler with his great group of Family and Friends for the first half of the week.

The second half of the week was followed by Scott Fraser fishing with Peter Holland, Edward Burlingame and his wife Perdita and last but not least Barbara Griffin and her daughter Cynthia Ferris.
Congratulations Edward Burlingame on your beautiful Catch! What a great way to start your Vacation!
The weather this past week was a little warmer and more humid than what we would typically like for salmon fishing. Temperatures rose to 30 degrees Celsius which would be equivalent to 90 Fahrenheit. A couple evenings ended in little rain showers but nothing was substantial enough to help the rivers rise.

The Bonaventure River is now flowing at approximately 20 cubic meters per second. This is quite normal for the end of July and beginning to get low. Thankfully Mother Nature is calling for some rain on Monday and Tuesday.

The most productive dry flies this week were once again Green and Brown Bombers and in the wet fly category – John Olin, Green Butt and Silver Rat. The fly sizes that we are now using are 8, 10 and 12.
