River Report

The Club’s Fishing & River Report June 24th to 30th, 2019

It seems as though it was yesterday that June was so far away and in our future planning. Don’t worry about the fishing and the office work, we were into winter kitchen renovations and spring landscaping. Now, what feels like in the blink of an eye, June has come and gone. It was a wonderful month for welcoming guests, new and returning, fishing on the beautiful Bonaventure river and enjoying some mouth-watering meals amongst family and friends.

The Bonaventure River was in great condition this week and the weather man served us an outstanding week for fishing conditions. We had nice days that weren’t too hot, cast over days to keep the river cool and rainy days to keep water levels right where we want them. The Bonaventure River is flowing at a very comfortable 40 meter cubic per second which is magnificent for this time of year.

Our guests enjoyed their days on the river as well as their meals this week. The river is always difficult to leave when the fish are active and so why not bring lunch to you!

The most productive flies this week were the Stone Ghost, John Olin, Picasse and Green Highlander. We’ve also been starting to dig into the dry flies and the most popular are Green and Blue bombers.
